With school starting up again it’s time to have some fun with kid friendly treats to munch on after a long day of learning and these Cereal Treats are the perfect answer!
We love recreating Rice Crispie Treats by trying out different cereals. One of our favorites were these Trix Treats I made for my husband’s Cereal Bar Party!
The recipe is too simple. And cereal treats are so fast to make that you can literally whip them up in the time it takes the school bus to leave the school and get to your house!
1 bag of mini marshmallows
2 TBS butter
1 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)
8-9 cups of cereal
Paper Straws, Popsicle sticks or Cookie Sticks
I like to save time and melt my marshmallows and butter in the microwave for 1 minute and then stir until it’s all melted. Then I mix in my extract and pour over the cereal.
Press flat into a non-stick square pan as tightly as you can and freeze for about 10 minutes. Cut them up and stick on pops! If you use paper straws, you will need something harder to poke a hole in the treats first, like a kabob skewer or end of a pencil even!
And that’s pretty much it! Just take your simple favorite Rice Krispie Treats recipe and switch up the cereal once in a while. We’re going to try some Golden Graham ones next to make a yummy s’mores treat! Mmmm…
