To go along with our Christmas Bedroom Makeovers this year, I added some fun decor to our childrens’ rooms without changing too much. And it’s just enough to have our kids feeling the Christmas spirit all around them and feeling like they have their own special space! Plus it gives them an opportunity to decorate their own tree and do whatever they want with it, without mama bear freaking out that an ornament is out of place!
First, up is the Big Boy Room
Since our move, I haven’t completely decorated it to begin with, so it was a pretty easy pallet to start with. Luckily, he already has red in his bedroom colors (red, white and gray). So I decided to go with a Christmas sheet set and then bring our old Christmas decorations into his room. Nothing new or home made. Just added some garland, snowflakes & a little rustic look to his tree.
These were pretty much the only purchase for his room and we all love it! It’s pretty warm at night in Southwest Florida so these flannel sheets are about all he needs right now. But it would pair perfectly with a solid comforter or quilt. I got mine from Amazon.com (Free 2 Day Shipping for Prime Members!)
I did add a few ornaments from Target that I seriously couldn’t walk away from to his tree. The faux wood snowflakes & fabric woodland animals. I think I gasped out loud when I saw them! I may have even ripped one off of a display because they were out. Must.Have.Every.Last.One.
And that’s about it. Simple. I think it’s a great masculine cabinish feel bedroom that will last years.
Now let’s whip out the Merry & Bright shall we?! Our triplet’s have an Aqua, Watermelon and Gray bedroom. Eeesh. At first, I thought this was going to be impossible to decorate, especially with an aqua dresser. But I love the fabric line by Michael Miller and used it as my inspiration. I ordered some fabric went from there.
I made this easy garland with holiday shape cutouts from Hobby Lobby. I traced the shapes onto the fabric, cut them and then used fabric glue to secure them on. Then I used felt circles to glue my red hemp string to the back.
I threw together some flannel throw blankets in under an hour.
And using the same method as my DIY Snowflake Pillow Cover tutorial HERE, I made them each their own Flannel Christmas Pillow Covers!
Many of the ornaments on their tree were clearance items, but the Glitter Snowflakes I bought unfinished from Michaels Stores and added some spray paint and Mod Podged glitter onto them. The tree was so fun for their girls to decorate!
And there you have it. 3 Christmas Bedroom Makeovers complete on a budget!
