It’s been a long while since my blog has had some love. Shame on me. I’ve been pretty caught up in life the last 6 months but I love getting back to sharing my fun ideas with you and I have so many projects that I’ve worked on that I am looking forward to sharing!
The timing is just perfect for this Thanksgiving Corn Husk Garland that I put together a few weeks ago. I wanted something different from the usual this year and decided to play with some natural harvest goods!
This project is about as simple as they get. I purchased a package of dried corn husks from the grocery store. These are the same ones you use to make tamales so they are typically in the ethnic section.
Since they are pretty stiff, you will need to soak them in hot water for a few minutes to loosen them up enough to mold them.
Then, I took 1 or 2 husks and just formed a rounded/gathered tip at the top so that I could tie some twine around them to hold them in place.
Just continue doing this until you have the desired amount and hang them where you like!
Don’t you love how they turned out? So simple yet perfectly festive for harvest time.
