DIY Woodslice Ornaments

I’m slowly adding more rustic woodland decor to our Christmas tree every year and this year I couldn’t wait to make some Woodslice Ornaments! I’ve seen many different versions floating around and wanted to give them a whirl. I thought it would be easy enough to slice up the wood ourselves but living in SWFL, there aren’t many options for that. Luckily, I found these 2 packs at Joann’s for $2.99 a piece. I figure $1 per ornament is a pretty good deal!

I chose to make mine into snowflakes. So I painted some white paint around in a circle…

…and then I used a brown dry erase┬ámarker to draw on the snowflakes. Ghetto right? Totally doesn’t matter.

Then I scuffed them up a little with some sandpaper to give them a rustic feel.

Last, I drilled holes in them and added some twine for  hanging.

I can’t wait to hang them on the tree this year! Surely, you’ll see pics of those soon.
